Christian ShimerChristian Shimer
At age 14 I spotted a 100 year old piano at summer camp and spent hours upon hours sneaking off to play it instead of going to camp activities.  I'd break into churches late at night or my high school theatre so that I could play and learn.  Unable to read or write music, I rely on my ear and my imagination.   I play what feels good then amp it up until I get a sound I like.   I have waited a long time for technology to allow me to do what I'm doing and I love it.  After teaching myself to program and record electronically, I'm now creating music that's been stuck in my head for years.

My career has moved me through cruise ships, theatre, television, radio, DJ'ing, and producing documentaries.  Now I'm trying my hand at independent filmmaking.  However, music is something I'll create even if it doesn't earn income.  I'll do it just because I love it.  I'm planning to hire a producer to remix and master it to add the professional edge, then I'll try marketing the music, but since it's really a hobby for me, it's more about having something creative to do which others enjoy.

It's also given me a way to work through some important things, like my time with drugs.  As a way to communicate with those I left behind, it's  become a cathartic outlet.   Sometimes it's boredom, sometimes it's inspiration which gets me started on a new track, but hopefully it's all good music which has unique meaning and impact on those who hear it.  I hope you enjoy it.
